Studies in collaboration with the Fenical laboratory at the Scripps Institution of Oceanograpy and Costa-Lotufo laboratory at Departamento de Fisiologia e Farmacologia in Universidade Federal do Ceará, Brazil have begun on a new family of highly-aromatic natural products. We have recently completed the isolation, synthesis, and target elucidation efforts and are in the process of drafting this work for publication.
